I announce the ending of Lens Thread with a hesitant yet unmistaken heart.
Starting Lens Thread was a large leap for me and gave me some amazing experiences. Though short, it helped teach me a lot about myself, photography, fashion, and Pittsburgh.
Unfortunately, I don’t feel I currently have the proper faculties to allow Lens Thread to be what it should & what I want it to be. Simply put, I love Lens Thread and what it’s become, but there’s not room for it in my life at the moment. When I have projects, I like to give them my all.
I’d like to thank every pedestrian turned model for allowing a random afro’d man to photograph them. I’d especially like to thank all the people who did when I was scribbling the url on the backs of my personal & work cards. Thank you, my friends, for the support this endeavor has received. Lens Thread won’t be on my plate anymore, but I will continue to pursue other photographic projects that I can accommodate more suitably. There’s no shortage of them in my notebooks and I’m looking forward to making their images.
If you need a Pittsburgh street style fix, check out @KeepPittsburghDope on Instagram. Chancellor, the founder, does an impeccable job capturing the city’s styles. If you’re downtown, he might stop you for a photo. If you want to stop him to talk, he’ll be busy hustling around looking for a photo.
It’s been real.
It’s been a joy.
It’s been lovely.
